POSITION SUMMARY:
The accounts payable clerk is responsible for processing accounts payable in compliance with procedures within the accounting department.
Perform day to day financial transactions and prepare statements in accordance with the dealership standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Post accounts payable invoices for the dealerships assigned by supervisor
- Process and issue payable checks to vendors- in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Verify account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from departments, customers, and vendors
- Serve as the liaison regarding all payable clerk responsibilities by communicating with vendors, company departments, and customers (via telephone, email, etc.)
- Keep record of all payment and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
-for documentation purposes - Maintain used car purchases; by stocking them in and processing payments
- Reconcile and ensure all payable schedules are current and balanced
- Create and post adjusting journal entries for system transactions needed
- Keep an organized filing system of all documentation, in accordance with the dealership standards
- Cross train on various accounting tasks to provide effective teamwork and productivity
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the employee handbook
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment
- Expected to attend accounting meetings, as requested.
- Expected to arrive at work on time and work required shift
- Follow instructions from supervisor
- Interact effectively with co-workers
- Receives feedback from supervisor in a positive manner

- Work experience in accounting or a related field; dealership experience preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the area of accounting
- Advance computer skills, specifically in Reynolds and Reynolds
- Understand the importance of and maintain confidentiality
- Understand and follow work rules, policies, and procedures
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a business-related field preferred
