Perform a range of tasks depending on the project, research, and communications needs of Thought Leadership Identify and research thought leaders across numerous industries Draft social media copy based on existing Thought Leadership reports Stay up to date on trending issues across industries as it relates to longevity and equity Event support, including assisting in logistics surrounding global thought leadership events Write, proof, or fact-check reports Provide administrative support Qualifications The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university; be considered a rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or postdoctoral student; and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship Pursuing a degree in political science, economics, public policy, communications, or related fields An entrepreneurial mindset, proactive attitude, and desire to seize opportunities. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including social media Must be a self-starter and adaptable Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities Ability to work well with diverse populations, including gender, race, and sexual orientation Familiarity with creating and editing videos and knowledge of multiple social media platforms is a plus AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time. Additional Requirements Regular and reliable job attendance Effective verbal and written communication skills Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships Independent judgement in evaluation options to make sound decisions In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions.
