Atlas Roofing Corporation, a privately owned company, established in 1982, is an international and multi-divisional manufacturer of roofing, sheathing, facer, and insulation product solutions. 

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator for our shared-services  Finance  department in the  Meridian, MS corporate office.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintain daily workload to meet monthly and year-end closing schedules (including monthly AP close and year-end 1099 processing). Examine invoices or other documents and validate their adequacy, accuracy, and completeness for payment. Verify or determine state sales tax for corporate payables. Audit or determine appropriate coding of documents and transactions performing calculations as necessary. Prepare, process, and post journal vouchers for corporate payables. Coordinate and process all location’s weekly AP payment processing. Review and audit expense reports, vendor statements, and other auditing functions as directed. Perform account analysis relating to AP accruals and pre-paids creating journal entries as required. Prepare monthly account analysis on various corporate general ledger accounts. Provide documentation and/or information requested by external auditors. Assist with IT tickets related to Accounts Payable. Troubleshoot any issues that arise when transmitting bank files. Test new process/changes are required by system upgrades or changes. Assist as needed in Motus mileage program setup for new employees. Travel occasionally to workshops and seminars.

Experience

A minimum of three years Accounts Payable experience is required.

Education, Licenses & Certifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to keep information confidential. This includes, but is not limited, to vendor information, systems information, financial reports, sales reports, and sensitive payments. Proficient use of accounting, compliance, and document management software. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with various plant and corporate personnel, auditors, and AP vendors. Strong analytical skills are required. Proficient in Excel, AP/Accounting software, data entry, and 10 key calculations.

Additional Information

General office environment. Must be able to constantly sit, flex/extend wrist, and/or twist/turn/tilt neck. Must be able to occasionally stand, walk, and lift, carry, push/pull up to 10 pounds. Repetitive computer and administrative tasks require constant hand activity, including gripping/grasping, writing and/or typing. Must have following sensory functions: color vision, hearing, and speech. Fast paced environment. Occasional overtime may be required.
