Position Summary

The Location Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the District and Customer Service Managers with daily operations. This role will be tasked with ensuring that the responsibilities of all field employees throughout the assigned district are being properly executed. Important functions include, but are not limited to, safety compliance, customer service, logistics coordination, inventory, and scheduling.


Core Duties / Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the propane distribution facility.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and manage routing to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, placing orders as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and operational.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to propane handling and distribution.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for staff.
  • Investigate and report any safety incidents or violations.

Personnel Management:

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate facility staff, including drivers, technicians, and administrative personnel.
  • Create and manage work schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Address and resolve employee issues and conflicts.
  • Promote a positive work environment and team morale.

Customer Service:

  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through efficient service and communication.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

Financial Management:

  • Assist in the development and management of the facility's budget.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Prepare and analyze operational reports, making recommendations for improvements.

Logistics Coordination:

  • Manage logistics for the distribution of propane, including coordinating with suppliers and vendors.
  • Optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of deliveries and inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business management or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in propane distribution or a related industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Certifications: Relevant safety and handling certifications as required by law.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and managerial skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in logistics and inventory management.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
    • Ability to handle customer service issues effectively.
    • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
