We are currently seeking a Senior Account who plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health of our organization and is responsible for facilitating areas of organizational accounting functions in collaboration with other members of the Accounting department. The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include reviewing entries and reconciling the balance sheet along with correcting entries and assisting staff with accounting questions and process improvements. Job duties include facilitating accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants receivable, payroll, and manual journal entries; preparing periodic account reconciliations and correcting entries as necessary; assisting with grant draws, reporting and budgeting; and communicating with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of an Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting. Preferred candidates will have at least 2 years of not-for-profit accounting experience. Required skills include a having a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, maintaining an attitude that is accepting, non-judgmental, and culturally competent; excellent interpersonal, organizational, and professional presentation skills; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
