Summary of Work

The Assistant Design Engineer position at NDDOT will manage six sections in Design Division. 

Job Duties include:

Direct administration and supervision of six sections (Roadway Design 1, Roadway Design 4 which includes Utility Engineering, the CADD Support section, and the Preliminary Surveys consisting of Field Survey, Photogrammetry, and Right of Way Plats sections). May assist supervision of other sections as needed. This duty is required to administer the work within the six sections. General review and direction of plans and documents. Review engineering/environmental reports and project plans. This duty is required to provide consistency. Direct General Workflow. This duty is required to ensure timely delivery of work products. Coordinate preliminary research to ensure the Department stays current with technology for surveying, photogrammetry, and right of way plats. This duty is required to develop new processes that meet the division’s needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Registration as a Professional Engineer in North Dakota and three years of experience leading a major engineering function and providing supervision of employees.

Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and reference check.
