Purpose/Introduction

The Materials Management Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management of the warehouse operation in accordance with overall company policy. This position particular focus is the effectiveness and accuracy of the flow of inventory into and out of the warehouse. The Materials Management Team Lead works closely with the manufacturing, maintenance, warehouse personnel and suppliers, understands and solves a variety of inventory problems and issues. Major parts of the job on a day-to-day basis include overseeing material handlers, contractor personnel, and meeting customer demand.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership, education, and feedback to ensure that receiving and restocking are done accurately, efficiently, safely, on-time using the correct procedures Directs and oversees contractor personnel Manages and control stock levels and making key decisions about inventory control Oversees bag and tag (kitting & staging) operation  Oversees positive materials identification (PMI) ensuring process is performed according to specification Analyzes and interprets material / labor trends to facilitate material planning. Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met Resolves health, safety, and security issues Responds to customer complaints and comments Acts as point of contact for customer service escalations and work with management to ensure all are addressed in a timely manner Identifies excess and obsolete inventory for the Material Review Board (MRB) and Coordinates sale of obsolete items with Surplus Vendor Manages Zone Stores, as well as monthly reconciliation/expense reports Drives inventory optimization efforts and develops associated performance metrics Oversees warehouses roles in the plant repairable process to ensure the process flows efficiently and effectively Coordinates with delivery services

Required Qualifications

High School diploma/GED 8 years of relevant industry experience in Warehouse / Inventory Material Management, Maintenance Planning / Scheduling or other Procurement related fields Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient with SAP Materials Management (MM) module Proficient with MS Office applications Ability to obtain or currently holds 49 CFR 172 DOT certification for hazmat shipping, forklift driving certification and Radiation Worker Safety Certification for PMI testing

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field Prior supervisory experience General knowledge of contracting, a general understanding of compliance and business-related risk Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, and Source to Pay applications
