Special Assistant to Vice President, Health Services Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports directly to the Vice President Health Services Administrator and is charged with also supporting the Detention Health Care Services as required and directed. The Special Assistant works in support of the University Health Strategic Issues as determined by the Vice President Health Services Administrator. The position provides project initiation/management, data collection, and analysis and decision support efforts as assigned. Overall, coordinates efforts to accomplish project objectives by leveraging the institutional history, knowledge and expertise available through existing data and documentation, workgroups and established collaboratives. Works to foster team-building strategies to meet Health System Mission objectives. Serves as a key Health System resource for facilitating project identification and management as it relates to University Health Strategic Mission and Issues for both the Vice President Health Services Administrator and the Department. Provides the Vice President Health Services Administrator with formal and informal business intelligence as required. Maintains a high level of flexibility in responding to requests by Vice President Health Services Administrator. Handles confidential and privileged communications discretely. May supervise staff, as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business, management or related field is preferred. A minimum of three years office, administrative support experience supporting high-level executives. Experience in healthcare industry and/or local government environment is preferred. Prior experience managing activities for a Board of Mangers/Directors or senior executives is highly desirable.
