District Primary Purpose:
To support the Deputy Chief of School Leadership in elevating the district's educational leadership, ensuring principals and assistant principals thrive as instructional leaders and in creating environments that promote management excellence, positive school climate and culture, and continuous improvement.

Department Primary Purpose:
To assist in the execution and management of initiatives and programs under the Deputy Chief of School Leadership, focusing on professional development, coaching, and the success of school leaders. This role is crucial in operationalizing strategies that develop and support a robust leadership pipeline and ensure high standards across schools.

Education/Certification:

Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field preferred. Valid educational administration certification or equivalent professional qualification.

Qualification Requirements:

Strong background in educational administration with demonstrated success in leadership development and school improvement strategies. Experience in effectively deploying leadership programs and initiatives across multiple schools. Ability to coach and support school leaders in implementing best instructional and management practices. Proficient in data analysis to inform program improvements and leadership development efforts. Excellent communication skills, capable of building relationships with educators, administrators, and stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in educational leadership.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Collaborate closely with the Chief of School Leadership to support, coach, and assist school leaders in their development as instructional leaders who make data-informed decisions, create high-quality environments and culture conducive for learning, and that attract high quality instructional talent to serve the students of their schools. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of leadership development programs and initiatives. Coordinate professional development and coaching for principals and assistant principals, focusing in areas such as instructional leadership, school management, climate and culture, etc. Assist in the development and management of the principal leadership pipeline, identifying and nurturing talent within the district. Support the evaluation and goal-setting process for school administrators, ensuring alignment with district objectives and educational standards. Facilitate forums for school leaders to share experiences, challenges, and best practices, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Monitor the impact of leadership development initiatives, providing regular feedback and recommendations for enhancement. Work with school leaders to improve school climate and culture, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for students and staff. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather support and resources for school leadership programs. Provide operational support to the Deputy Chief of School Leadership, ensuring effective execution of departmental strategies and activities. Serve as a liaison between the School Leadership department and other district departments, ensuring cohesive efforts to achieve district-wide goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee, supervise, and evaluate school principals, and collaborate with relevant departments and teams including coordinators or specialists focused on specific areas of school leadership development and support.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands:
Typical demands of an office environment, with regular visits to schools for program implementation, meetings, and coaching sessions.

Work Environment:
Office-based with moderate noise levels and frequent interaction with school leaders and district staff. Travel within the district is required.
