Job Duration: 13 weeks
Non-Billable Orientation: 8 hours
Location: Minneapolis, MN

Position Overview:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing respiratory care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, department policies, and procedures. This role primarily involves working with patients in the emergency room and adult ICU.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory therapy services including airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP/CPAP, and heated high flow nasal cannula (NC).
  • Handle a patient volume/load of 8-10 patients per shift.
  • Work every other weekend as required.
  • Float within the scope to meet facility needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required, with 2-3 years of ICU experience.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT)
    • Minnesota License (required)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (preferred)
  • Special Requirements: Experience with Puritan Bennett, LTV, and Zoll ventilators preferred. Familiarity with Epic (Excellian) charting system preferred.
  • On-Call: No on-call required.
  • Locals: Not accepted within a 100-mile radius.
  • License: Pending license accepted.
  • RTO: Ideally no more than 5 days.
