The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an innovative, independent, collaborative, and extramurally-funded research program. Area of research interest is open, but we are particularly interested in applicants conducting research in pediatric hematology/oncology health disparities, health equity, cancer survivorship, psychosocial risk and resilience, or community-based research. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Program provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art care for children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders and is a member of the National Cancer Institute supported Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research and clinical trials. The LITE Program at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey provides long-term evaluation, support, and health education for the growing population of childhood cancer survivors.

The New Jersey Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Research Center of Excellence (NJ PHORCE) was established in 2021 is led by Dr. Peter Cole, the Embrace Kids Endowed Chair and Professor of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
