About the PositionThe successful candidate will be part of the new faculty cluster: Advancing STEM Diversity in Environmental Engineering - Urban Environments, Health, Climate Change, and Environmental Justice.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a robust research program focused on the interactions among ecosystem functions of soil, water, and natural or anthropogenic materials or structures in urban environments.
- Teach courses in Environmental Fate and Transport, Environmental Modeling, Engineered Soils, Urban Subsurface Ecology, Environmental Informatics, Circular Economy, and other courses in our ABET-accredited Environmental Engineering program and Environmental Science program.
- Engage with environmental justice community groups and contribute to the university's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ph.D. in environmental engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, soil science, geoscience, or related science/engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research, engage in grantsmanship, teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and mentor students.
- Experience in developing and teaching courses in environmental engineering and science, particularly in the areas of urban subsurface ecology and environmental informatics.
