St Louis County, United States Rockwood School District Full time

The Rockwood School District is seeking an outstanding administrator for the position of Director of Human Resources.

Assumes major responsibilities for recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and orientation of administrators, certified, and classified staff with special emphasis on hard to recruit disciplines and minority candidates. Leads investigation of employee misconduct. Serves as a resource person for the principal and his/her staff related to employee issues such as performance or absenteeism. Works with consultant, assists with the design and implementation of a comprehensive evaluation system for certified staff. Chairs the Calendar Committee and distributes approved calendars. Chairs the Extracurricular Activity Committee and issues extracurricular contracts for all coaching and sponsoring activities and maintains records on Code of Conduct, as required. Assists in assuring and enforcing certification and license standards for employees. Assists in the screening process by verifying prior work experience and checking references of applicants. Initiates improvement in the development and maintenance of a paperless records system for employees and applicants to meet the requirements of State and Federal law and local District policy.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Missouri Certification administrator with appropriate skills in the area of human resources OR, possess a master's degree in human resources and skills essential to the responsibilities defined. Three to five years’ experience involving educational leadership, decision-making, management, and long-range planning. Possess experiences and training which are applicable in achieving the goals of human resource management; demonstrate skills essential in implementing an effective program of staff recruitment and selection for various positions in the school district. Demonstrates knowledge of the concepts of human resource management; selection skills; growth plans; and the development of human potential. Knowledge of computer applications which could be utilized in the recruitment and selection process as well as the routine personnel records, payroll functions, and employee benefits.
