Assistant Project Manager (Civil)


Our client is a leading company in the Heavy Infrastructure industry. They are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help support the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects. This role involves assisting the Project Manager in overseeing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civil construction, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction activities and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the construction process.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project documentation and records.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input on project planning and execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy infrastructure or civil construction project management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, and utilities.
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other advanced construction technologies.
