Position Overview: As aSenior Cost Accountant you will be responsible for standard costingbudgeting cost variance analysis and participating in initiativesto improve business processes. In this role you will have thechance to take ownership of enhancing our standard costing systemwhile working in a collaborative environment that encouragesprofessional development.
CoreResponsibilities:
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regularreports comparing standard costs toactuals.
- Manage maintain and enhance the costaccounting system.
- Collect and analyze data todetermine costs of business activities such as raw materials laborand other related expenses.
- Participate inphysical inventories and report findings to the executiveteam.
- Assist with monthend closing includingpreparing journal entries related to various product lines andstandard costs.
- Collaborate with operations andengineering teams to support new product development and ensureaccurate costing.
- Prepare various ad hocreports as requested by local or executivemanagement.
- Enhance standard cost reporting andvariance analysis.
Qualifications(MustHave):
- BS inAccounting/Finance.
- 5 years of manufacturingexperience with a cost accounting focus.
- Strongcommunication skills (both oral and written) and the ability tobuild relationships acrossdepartments.
- Proficiency in Excel Outlook andother Microsoft Office products.
- Proven abilityto identify and implement process improvements with a selfstarterattitude.
NicetoHave:
- Experience with JD Edwards ERPsystem.
