Senior Cost Accountant - Manufacturing Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving business process improvements, managing costing systems, and influencing key decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actuals.
  • Manage, maintain, and enhance the cost accounting system.
  • Collect and analyze data to determine costs of business activities such as raw materials, labor, and other related expenses.
  • Participate in physical inventories and report findings to the executive team.
  • Assist with month-end closing, including preparing journal entries related to various product lines and standard costs.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to support new product development and ensure accurate costing.
  • Prepare various ad-hoc reports as requested by local or executive management.
  • Enhance standard cost reporting and variance analysis.

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting/Finance.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience with a cost accounting focus.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements with a self-starter attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with JD Edwards ERP system.
