JOB TITLE: 

Disability Resource Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:

The University Disability Support Services seeks a Disability Resource Coordinator to join our team. This position coordinates and administers disability accommodations to allow student full participation in resources and programs offered by the University of Wyoming. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the provision of accommodations resources (., interpreters, note-takers, alternative material formats, test accommodations, for students with disabilities, maintaining a caseload while ensuring timely delivery and quality service.  Conduct intake interviews and develop personalized support plans tailored to each student’s unique needs, fostering their academic success, and ensuring inclusivity. Provide guidance and support to students, parents, faculty, and administrators on accommodation strategies, curriculum adaptations, and relevant policies to promote an accessible learning environment. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student accommodations, resources offered and outcomes. Utilize data to inform decision-making and program improvements. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Develop and implement initiatives to raise awareness of disability resources, rights, and available resources among students, faculty, and staff.

  SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

Participate in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational goals and objectives. Attend and participate in training and other personal professional development activities.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY: 

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 1 year of relevant work experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   

3 years of relevant work experience Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Certified Disability Services Provider (CDSP) Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as well as relevant case law related to disability in higher education. Knowledge of medical and psychological conditions, auxiliary aids and resources, and reasonable accommodations and adjustments for individuals with disabilities. Awareness of current professional standards and best practices in disability support resources within higher education. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
