  • This position is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
  • You will serve as the Squad Leader of the Technology team that delivers and supports solutions for the Corporate Security Product.
  • This role provides an opportunity to develop and exercise both leadership and technology skills as a member of an autonomous, self-organizing and self-governing product team.
     
What you'll do
  • Serve as a key member of the Corporate Security Technology product leadership team
  • Work to empower the squad and remove impediments that prevent the squad from bringing work to "done"
  • Ensure that regular visioning, road mapping and planning sessions provide the squad with a healthy backlog of work in collaboration with product stakeholders
  • Protect the squad from distraction and context switching by sharing and supporting the squad’s processes and working agreements.
  • Focus on continuous improvement for the squad and the organization
  • Become an expert in, and facilitate, all agile ceremonies for the team
  • Mentor and coach team to ensure successful use of Agile @ American practices
  • Contribute to the velocity of the squad by delivering on the product backlog
  • Maintain a relentless focus on customer value
  • Perform operations support duties in rotation with the team
  • Travel as necessary, up to 10%
     
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5 years of IT experience
  • 4 years of experience participating in the delivery of IT solutions using Agile and DevOps
  • 3 years of experience managing or developing applications hosted in a Cloud Environment.
  • 3 years of experience leading initiatives or teams, either formally or informally

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • A mastery of agile practices including product management and product ownership fundamentals
  • A firm understanding of DevOps best practices and ability to coach the squad in these areas
  • Experience with a modern Agile Backlog and Work Tracking system—Microsoft ADO expertise preferred
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
  • Relentless in creating high-performing squads and organizations

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills in combination with the ability to frame solutions strategically and creatively
  • Critical thinker with a growth mindset, who is organized, self-motivated, and has an ability to prioritize requests from many different stakeholders
  • Desire and ambition to lead a team of individuals with various levels of skills and experience
