OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

The Practicum Coordinator works with students, Academic Leadership, and Faculty to plan, organize, supervise, and ensure students’ success in each program’s practice experience requirements. 

ORGANIZATIONAL DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB:

This position works with the Assistant/Associate Dean of Nursing and Healthcare Programs and the Dean of Nursing and Healthcare Programs to maintain program integrity, promote optimum practice experience learning opportunities for students, and foster a rich online environment to meet the College’s practice experiences requirements.

Post University currently offers the option to work remotely in this position. Candidates must plug their equipment into their home router (a 50-foot ethernet cable will be provided by Post). No wireless connections are supported. The home internet minimum requirements are a 25 Mb download speed and a 15 Mb upload speed. The upload speed is essential for a consistent audio connection for the phone system. ( Please use the link provided to test your home network speed  .) Applicants may be asked to provide their speed test results during the screening process. Individuals whose home network speed does not meet the minimum requirements can independently contact their ISP to upgrade their service before moving forward. 

Whenever working remotely, the candidate's home network must meet the minimum required speed and follow the hardware connection settings determined by their provisioned equipment and department role. Additionally, candidates must have a reliable Internet connection and a designated and private home office or alternative workspace free from noise or distractions. 

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, doctoral preferred. Preferred experience in academia, clinical nursing, leadership, or administration. Must possess an unencumbered Registered Nursing License.

DUTIES:  

Educate students on requirements for practice experiences Work in collaboration with Program Chairs and faculty for the practice experience process Answer all emails in the practicum email folder Hold virtual office hours Update PE documents, policies, and procedures Update course master syllabi to reflect updated PE information Follow up with students who are late with submitting PE requirements Work with third-party clinical scheduling programs to allow facilities to approve student attendance Work with screening/clinical software (Castle Branch) to evaluate items and assist students as needed for compliance Maintain accurate student records in Typhon and the LMS for PE documentation management Collaborate with admissions and SSAs to communicate with students Collaborate with Program Chairs and Assistant Dean to ensure all PE requirements are met Verify preceptor’s qualifications and approve or deny preceptors Review request for practice experience for appropriate activities and hours Review preceptor evaluation of students Review student evaluation of preceptor Maintain practicum workrooms
