AV Pre-Sales Engineer
The AV Pre-Sales Engineer is a pre-sales technical professional with in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise. This role will interact directly with customers and other members of the sales and technical teams to conduct detailed discoveries of existing customer environments and design solutions to meet business objectives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with account executives to develop and close client opportunities and drive revenue.
- Translate customer requirements into functional system designs "Build and Designs".
- Pre-sales discussions, discovering and defining customer requirements surrounding audio-visual solutions and services.
- Daily or weekly onsite project assessments and discovery with sales.
- Review pre-construction design and documentation.
- Assist with technical design, pricing, and identifying any project challenges.
- Create functional system descriptions and block diagrams (Visio)
- Identify all cabling and miscellaneous project material needs.
- Develop BOMs and associated labor efforts for projects.
- Assist sales account executives in presenting technology updates.
- Achieve vendor and manufacturer certification, as needed.
- Perform related duties, as required.
- Attend training and set self-performance goals.
- Maintain working relationships with our Partners
Job Qualifications
- Manufacturer Certification a Plus; Extron, Epson, Aver, Crestron, Logi, Shure, and Q-SYS.
- AVIXA Certification a Plus; CTS, CTS-I, and/or CTD-D.
- Experience with UC systems (Zoom, MS TEAMS).
- Able to articulate with your audience.
- The Ability to analyze legacy and complex systems and provide recommendations.
- Ability to translate and communicate technical features and concepts into tangible benefits.
- Ability to work and think independently and ensure to meet deadlines and interact with internal employees, clients, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner.
- Able to digest RFPs and understand the set goals.
- Proven business writing skills
- A minimum of 5 years with field AV deployment.
- Programming knowledge a Plus
- DSP configuration knowledge a Plus.
- Previous experience creating quotes or Statements of Work (SOWs) with accuracy and promptly.
