Job Summary:

The Multimedia Specialist plays a pivotal role in capturing and showcasing our campus community's vibrant stories and achievements through compelling videography and photography. As a skilled videographer/photographer, the Multimedia Specialist will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to produce high-quality visual content that effectively communicates the university’s brand, values, and initiatives across digital and traditional channels. Content includes classroom and lab work, student events, student life, executive communications, magazine story photography, portrait photography, internal and external communications, event photography, alumni relations, and admissions marketing needs.

The Multimedia Specialist will produce high-quality content that is compelling, authentic, and engaging, and can distinguish Regis University’s unique programs, student experiences, events, and academic excellence.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential:

Photography, Videography, and Content Creation

Capture high-quality images and videos for university events, campus life, academic activities, and promotional campaigns.

Develop and edit engaging social media content, including reels, to enhance the university’s online presence.

Utilize industry-standard software to edit, enhance, and add metadata to photos and videos, ensuring visual consistency and quality.

Stay informed on emerging trends and integrate innovative techniques into multimedia projects.

Project and Equipment Management

Schedule and manage photography and videography projects, ensuring timely completion.

Maintain and organize an inventory of cameras, lenses, lighting, and audio equipment, ensuring they are available and in good working condition.

Develop creative concepts and storyboards for video projects, including scripting, filming, and post-production editing.

Maintain a digital asset library for marketing materials, social media, websites, and other platforms.

Collaboration and Professionalism

Collaborate with marketing and communication teams and internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, students, staff, and vendors.

Uphold high standards of professionalism, strong work ethic, and interpersonal skills.

Exhibit flexibility in scheduling to accommodate event-based work and be available for key events and important dates.

Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and photography/videography subjects.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media production, journalism, graphic design or related field from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred, related experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

Minimum one year of experience in marketing, communications, content creation or creative role.

Proven experience as a photographer and videographer, particularly with a background in news.

Proficiency with Adobe Premiere and Mac-based production software.

Strong portfolio showcasing social media content, including reels.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.

Flexibility with scheduling and commitment to key event dates.

Drone certification is a plus.

Preferred:

Bilingual English-Spanish

Short-form video content creation experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment, but occasional outdoor event coverage in various weather conditions is required. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. In addition, some local, regional, and/or national travel is required.
