Summary: The Area Director plays a pivotal role in managing daily operations, overseeing staff and driving revenue growth within a major market area or with emerging/growth markets within a region. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Area Director is responsible for supervising leaders and teams within assigned areas of responsibility in the region, managing day-to-day operations, overseeing employee lifecycle management, and ensuring the accomplishment of key region performance metrics.Responsible for the achievement of annual net revenue goals; volunteer leadership development objectives; diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) integration; and the hiring and successful management of talent needed to lead area revenue goals and established outcomes. Primary revenue accomplishment is through the direction of multiple campaigns, projects, and programs.

Supervises: May supervise Campaign Development Directors, Campaign Development Managers, Campaign Development Specialists

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for revenue generation and successful implementation of multiple campaigns in their assigned areas of responsibility within the region.  Lead all revenue generation activities within a major market or within emerging markets by providing direction and supervision of all leaders and teams in their assigned areas of responsibility. This role is accountable for leading and inspiring the staff and teams in driving revenue and cost efficiencies to LLS. Accountable for revenue attainment within their assigned areas of responsibility.  Leads the employee lifecycle of assigned teams including the planning, acquiring, engaging, training, and developing of leaders, staff and teams.  Integrates regional strategy and programs with assigned teams to create an inclusive and equitable culture that represents the spectrum of diversity. Provide leadership to Directors of assigned teams for staffing vacancies and the coordination of training and orientation of new staff. Supervises, coaches, and develops Directors of assigned teams in charge of revenue activities, volunteer leadership committees, and the elevation of business development and advancement relationships from their assigned areas of responsibility. Where assigned, manage key volunteer leadership development and Board of Trustee relationships in partnership with the Region Executive Director.  In partnership with the Region Executive Director and Territory Campaign Development Directors, evaluate the campaign portfolio and make strategic adjustments to peer-to-peer campaignswithin assigned areas of responsibility to achieve revenue growth and the region’s financial objectives. Partner with the Region Executive Director and Territory Campaign Development Directors to ensure critical annual revenue key performance indicators are embedded with their assigned areas of responsibility teams’ priorities for revenue generation and volunteer engagement.  Partner with Region Executive Director, Advancement Director, and Business Development Director (where appropriate) to provide leadership to their assigned leaders and teams to identify, steward, and elevate business development and advancement relationships.  With assigned teams, oversee the implementation, coordination, and management of LLS business operational plans and standards; including contracts, procurement, event management, communication, use of technology, business continuity programs, and risk management. Serve as theirArea/Market lead for project management, change management, and strategic initiatives at the direction of the Executive Director.  Oversees assigned market specific activities to deliver brand aligned events and initiatives. Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote the territory and campaign fundraising initiatives. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred 5-7 years of progressively responsible related experience with a minimum of 2 years in managing teams. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Position Requirements:

Experience with the management of leaders and teamswithin nonprofit and peer-to-peer campaigns preferred.  Ability to lead teams, the implementation of organization processes and procedures, and overseeing employee lifecycle management; including the identification, hiring, onboarding and training of staff.  Prior experience leading, coaching and mentoring direct reports.
