Job Summary

Detail-oriented, organized, and motivated individual needed to oversee and manage ongoing research lab projects related to Latino and immigrant health. The Research Lab Coordinator will provide support to Dr. Ana Martinez-Donate in the Community Health & Prevention Department at the Dornsife School of Public Health. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Research Lab Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the development of intervention activities and data collection instruments; managing the implementation of projects; supervising data collection and data management activities across projects; conducting data analysis using quantitative and qualitative software; managing project team members and priorities; managing project contracts and invoicing; overseeing budget and purchasing related to projects; developing and maintaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols; maintaining contact with stakeholders, partners and sub-award recipients; and facilitating grant and evaluation-related reporting to funders.

Essential Functions

Supervise a study team of project staff & students and compose and track IRB protocols. Assist with design of qualitative and quantitative data collection tools and assist with data collection, management, and analyses. Programming of complex surveys in Qualtrics and RedCap. Real time monitoring of survey data quality and provision of feedback and training to field staff to reduce survey administration errors. Coordinate and facilitate data sharing with project investigators. Spearhead efforts to increase efficiency, collaboration, and to maintain good climate in research lab. Assist with intervention planning and implementation. Assist with annual and final reports to grant funders. Initiate and maintain regular contact with community partners & stakeholders. Overseeing budget, purchasing, contracts, and invoicing related to projects. Assisting with training of project staff and students and developing training material. Contribute to proposal and manuscript development and submission Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

A master's degree in public health Public Health (or a related field) or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. Please review the for additional information. 1-2 years of minimum experience is required. Data management and analytical skills required.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Expertise in Microsoft Office and SAS/SPSS/Stata are required. Fluent in Spanish. Experience working in research projects focused on Latino immigrant health.  The candidate must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, be proactive, and be comfortable working as part of team as well as independently, depending on the task.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent project and time management skills are expected. A successful applicant should also have an understanding of both quantitative and qualitative public health research methods.

This position is classified as exempt, grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from minimum: $ 47,.00 to maximum: $ 71,.00 Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
