The Senior IT Business Analyst is a key player, partnering with both business and IT teams to craft and define innovative business and functional requirements that propel our corporate goals and objectives forward. This role is crucial in driving continuous improvement and achieving outstanding business results. You'll take charge of validating functional business design documentation, meticulously reviewing test plans, and ensuring the system functionality delivered exceeds expectations. By working closely with the business, you'll gain a deep understanding of their operational model and contribute to strategic technical deliverables, making a tangible impact on our company's success.

What will you do in this role?

Lead the capture, review, and update of business requirements. Produce requirements based on input from IT Leads’ and Subject Matter Experts’ (SMEs - technical and business stakeholders). Capture business capability matrix, detailed requirements, user stories, business rules using both waterfall and agile methodologies. Communicate with stakeholders and user audiences as well as help to produce training materials as needed. Support the delivery of the Business Architecture by partnering with stakeholders and functional lead(s) to identify business process issues and capability needs. Liaise between technical and non-technical resource team members to answer daily business questions directly or indirectly as supported by the Business Leads and SMEs. Conduct walkthroughs with project team members and business leads. Understand and manage the scope of defined project. Ability to lead small projects. Work with QA and Business SMEs (UAT) to ensure requirements traceability and coverage within test cases. Promote change management principles with executives, senior leaders, managers and supervisors to influence, build relationships, and manage resistance. Provide support during end user training, prior to production deployments. Provide validation testing support with releases. Provide support to end users as needed.

About You:

What you need to have:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related field. Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies for working in agile pods is a big plus. Minimum 5 years’ experience as an IT business analyst. Proficiency with software/systems commonly used to manage Programs/Projects (MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, TFS, Azure DevOps, JIRA). Experience developing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process diagrams, storyboards, use cases, and presentations. Soft skills in interpersonal inquiry and analysis to flush out thorough requirements is critical in this role. Experience developing clear, well written functional documentation including process documentation, storyboarding, business requirements, use cases and presentations. A strong, demonstrable ability to interface with technical teams and help developers translate functional requirements to technical specifications is an important part of the role. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in person and remotely. Detail oriented with excellent data analysis skills. Dedicated and conscientious team player.

What we prefer you to have:

Experience in P&C Insurance industry is strongly preferred. Experience with Reinsurance is a plus. Experience with Microsoft platforms including Dynamics 365 and SharePoint preferred. Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies for working in agile pods is a big plus. CBAP certification is a plus.

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of 125k –145k USD (GA). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location. 

In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance. On top of this, you will be eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes medical plans for you and your family, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and much more.
