Summary
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Actively supervise children during all activities.
* The teacher will be up and circulating the room.
*The teacher will be engaged in a conversation or activity with the child(ren) in the classroom.
*Complete all paperwork – e.g., attendance records, incident/accident reports, etc.
*Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the site.
*Teacher will complete the following daily:
*Sweep the floor
* Empty the trash
* Wipe down the tables and shelves
*Stock equipment/classroom supplies
*Develop and maintain a professional relationship with parents in which appropriate information is communicated promptly.
*Implement and monitor the activities set for the day.
*Attends and participates in staff meetings, site events, etc. as requested.
*Must maintain confidentiality.
*Any memo or information given must remain within the center.
**Complies with Tipp City Enrichment Program and state regulations regarding the care of children.Keeps the Director informed of all necessary information regarding the care and safety of children.
Duties
The right person for this role is a caring, compassionate, calm, and very patient teacher.
They are persistent in their willingness to do whatever it takes to support children. Naturally warm and nurturing, they make learning fun and give individual focus to students, but they are always aware of what is happening in the classroom.
The ideal assistant teacher sees nurturing the children they teach us as their top priority.They are approachable, thoughtful, and outgoing.The assistant teacher can use social and emotional skills to engage children and their families.
The right person for this role is committed to early childhood education.The assistant teacher is determined to succeed in teaching and helping their students and focuses on finding solutions to problems.
The right person for this role is adaptable to change.An assistant teacher must be flexible and able to handle change.They do not always see the world in black and white but are comfortable living in the grey.They trust their intuition and take pride in their flexibility, knowing there is usually more than one way to accomplish a goal.
The right person for this role is committed.A great assistant teacher is dedicated to personal growth and development and collaborates well with lead teachers and administrators.They ask many questions and never stop learning.
Requirements
*High School Diploma
*18 years of age
*Clean background check
*CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease, Child Abuse Prevention, and Childcare Orientation within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
*CDA, Associate, or bachelor’s degree preferred.
