Job DescriptionJob Description
Summary

We are seeking a full-time Lead Preschool Teacher for a Gold Star Step Up to Quality Center.

The candidate must have a positive employment history with experience in classroom management, appropriate practice, and knowledge of the Ohio Department of Children and Youth policies.

The candidate should have experience writing lesson plans that follow the Ohio Preschool/Pre-K standards.

The starting pay is $13.00 an hour, but we are willing to pay for experience and education.

Duties

  • Formulating and implementing curricula in accordance with students' developmental trajectories.
  • Documenting and reporting on students' progress at regular intervals.
  • Adhering to legal and educational requirements to ensure students' well-being.
  • Developing and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Use multiple sources to assess and understand children’s needs.
  • Adapt classroom routines, environment, instructional methods, and strategies to meet students’ needs.
  • Support social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.
  • Establish positive and productive relationships with families and co-workers.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences each year with each child’s family.
  • Ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs.
  • Spend time outdoors, bending, squatting, and lifting children (weighing up to 50 lbs.).
  • Evaluate and coach the assistant teacher(s) assigned to the group.


Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be a High School Graduate
  • CDA or associate degree in Education is preferred
  • Must be able to pass a BCI/FBI background check
  • Must be able to obtain a physical examination and verification of immunizations
  • Must complete the online orientation, CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse training.
