Description

Directs, sets strategy and implements services for gift and endowment agreements and compliance, naming opportunities and gift processing and records. Oversees and manages the gift acceptance process, including the establishment, maintenance and reporting of endowed funds and donor restricted gifts for the University of Houston System (UHS). Oversees all gift acceptance, processing and biographical information maintenance for the UH Systems.

Leads and directs operations, staff and resources responsible for the creation and approval of endowed, gift and naming agreements between UHS and donors; ensuring agreements document the donor's intent, adhere to UHS policies and are appropriately processed and recorded into the data base of record. Oversees the endowment and scholarships financial tracking process, approves related fund transfers and develops and implements annual financial statements to UH System donors. Directs the design, development and implementation of a program to monitor and assure endowment fund compliance and donor restricted funds are spent in accordance with donor agreements; Directs and performs annual and random internal audits. Liaises with Internal Audit, Treasury, General Counsel, Budget Office, Scholarships and Financial Aid, Advancement and college business partners regarding gift acceptance, compliance and recording. Oversees the creation, review and approval of all endowed, gift and naming agreements between UH System and donors and ensures compliance with applicable legal and university requirements. Develops and implements an operating plan for UH System alumni and donor records, ensuring systematic data integrity, security compliance, biographical maintenance and accurate inputs and updates on regular cycles of processing. Oversees the selection and use of database and technology tools and business improvements processes to develop effective and streamlined systems and processes to ensure gift compliance. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelors and 7 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
