Senior Payroll Specialist

The Role
This role will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for our multi-state population around 4,000+ employees today with continued plans to grow like weeds…pun intended
Our ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in Payroll with an incredible keen eye for detail and accuracy. You have the experience and the tenacity to quickly learn Green Thumb’s organization and challenges of the cannabis industry, as well as foresee any obstacles. You are ready to take on a challenge that entails learning new systems and platform integrations, all while executing day-to-day tasks with a high level of accuracy.
Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
Coordinate and manage workflow to ensure bi-weekly payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate mannerLead HRIS/Wurk functionality projectsProvide training related to payroll processes and create SOPsProcess employee changes as they relate to compensation changes/adjustments, changes in employment status, deductionsSet up state and local taxing authorities, respond to tax noticesProcess audits to include 401(k), Workers Comp, SOX, and internalPerform year-end responsibilities as they relate to W-2 verificationResolve all payroll discrepancies, process adjustments, manual checks, and answer employee and management inquiriesSupport the Accounting team with reconciliations as they relate to benefit deductions, garnishments, cost center allocation, and reporting Partner with Wurk Support to investigate and troubleshoot payroll and system errorsProvide ongoing brainstorming of ways to improve or streamline current processesQualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of payroll experience Must have experience processing non-exempt, hourly employees Proven experience and success in a fast-paced, high-growth organization Advanced computer skills, including ExcelExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational and time-management skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent and professional verbal and written communication skillsAbility to interact and communicate with all levels within the organizationDemonstrated understanding of multi-state wage and labor lawsExperience using the following products, a plus: Kronos, Wurk, ABG, Everything BenefitsAdditional Requirements
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential materialMust pass any and all required background checksMust be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry-
