Research Associate, Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity
Department:
Academic Affairs Administration | Kirwan InstituteThe research associate will work with the rest of the research team to conduct community-engaged research with Ohio State faculty and students as well as community partners at the local, state and federal level. This position analyzes administrative data across a variety of sectors, including but not limited to government, education, and healthcare to answer mutually agreed upon applied questions within the study of poverty, race and ethnicity.
Conduct quantitative analyses of survey and other empirical data under the direction of the associate director for research including predicted probabilities, hierarchical linear models, spatial modeling and fs(QCA) Create and/or edit data visualizations for Kirwan reports and presentations that translate complex data and analyses for mainstream audiences Contribute to the writing of both academic articles and popular reportsRequired:
Demonstrated expertise in two or more research methodologies, including but not limited to quantitative statistical analysis, qualitative or interpretive analysis, or multi-method analysis Master’s Degree in a Related Social Science Field (such as economics, planning, political science, psychology, public policy, or sociology) or Equivalent Experience 1-3 years’ experience applying social science research designs to conduct applied researchDesired:
Doctorate or comparable terminal degree Fluency in a second language other than English
