Job Description
Serves as Manager-2, Research Center, in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health; oversees multiple study teams and research groups developing and implementing plans to meet requirements of new studies; drives study start up processes and provides solutions for overcoming barriers to study implementation; ensures compliance with all local, state and national regulations including adherence to Good Clinical Practices (GCP);develops, implements and enforces administrative and operational policies and procedures; assists in recruiting, hiring, training, supervising and evaluating clinical research staff across multiple study teams; supervises large-scale clinical research data collection, management, analysis and reporting; plans and supervises daily administrative, research and activities of the clinical research staff; oversees clinical research staffs recruitment activity including interviewing, screening and enrolling of participants into relevant protocols; provides ongoing clinical supervision to research staff; participates in the development of new projects and protocols; serves as a liaison with institutional review board (IRB), federal, state and industry sponsors; oversees and supervises submission of required regulatory documents; monitors, identifies and reports adverse reactions of research subjects; develops, implements and oversees collaborative research initiatives; assists with modifications of project data collection tools to develop information systems and measures to protect subject confidentiality; ; oversees and monitors that research study deliverables are met, including but not limited to enrollment goals, data entry, IRB submissions, budget and contract processes; collaborates with investigators to provide operational feedback for research protocols and may assist with providing required information for the preparation of grant applications to obtain research funding; assists with writing and preparation of grant applications to obtain research funding; participates in writing and submission of manuscripts, articles, abstracts and research reports for publication and presentation; actively contributes to the College of Medicine research initiatives and facilitates collaboration among Centers, Departments, Divisions, and Offices within the COM and OSUWMC as well as all other clinical research stakeholders within and external to the institution.


Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in biological sciences or clinical social work.

Additional Education Desired
Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in biological sciences or clinical social work.


Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in biological sciences, business admin, clinical social work, allied medical professions, or health care field with relevant state licensure or registration or other relevant field or equiv combination of education & experience; extensive experience in a clinical or bench research capacity conducting & implementing research projects required; 5 yrs experience in a progressively responsible administrative or management research capacity required; ACRP (Assn of Clinical Research Professionals) or SOCRA (Society of Clinical Research Associates) certification required: knowledge of clinical research regulations, guidelines & compliance issues required including Institutional Review Board (IRB) & federal or industry sponsor processes and requirements;

Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience preferred; 8-12 years of experience preferred; considerable knowledge of clinical trials data mgmt preferred; experience writing research grants and proposals strongly desired.

Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
