Position Description:

Job Purpose and Scope:

Under direction of Quality Control management, responsible for oversight of business processes, exception tracking, process improvement measures, analysis, reporting, and monitoring for compliance with applicable consumer protection regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

Performs quality control reviews of the underwriting and funding functions, forming independent conclusions of control effectiveness and compliance with applicable consumer protection regulatory requirements. Assists with management trend reporting, ensuring there are no gaps in the end-to-end process oversight. Develops and presents gap analysis and reporting metrics with recommendations for addressing process weaknesses. Develops and implements corrective action plans for resolution of issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid similar situations in the future. Escalates risk issues for further review, when required. Takes the lead on special projects, as required. Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions. Follows Bank policy, procedures and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending credit underwriting and collateral review. Knowledge of applicable consumer protection regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, Regulation Z with emphasis on the Qualified Mortgage/Ability to Repay rules, Regulation B – ECOA, Red Flags, and HMDA. Knowledge of project management. Knowledge of banking regulations related to consumer protection and disclosure. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage and interpret large amounts of data, and to compile detailed reports. Ability to multi-task and work well with exacting deadlines.
