THE ROLE

As Financial Controller your key responsibility will be the overall administration and leadership of Legends Global Merchandise accounting and support team. This role will evaluate, select, and manage the delivery and effectiveness of all financial transactions while providing management and leadership for financial reporting, systems, regulatory compliance, and business process decisions that leverage all Legends Global Merchandise assets to help meet and achieve expectations.

This position will have a key role in the smooth running of all financial transactions and stakeholder experiences. This position is committed to playing a pivotal role in building a successful future for our business. Working with all internal departments and stakeholders to ensure all the financial transactions including management of Month End Close process including issuing monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP, assist with the budget process, administer the A/R & A/P cycles, royalty calculations and reporting, management of fixed assets, sales tax and business license compliance, risk management, and audit management come together to deliver highly accurate financial information designed to maximize the profit and successful outcomes for Legends Global Merchandise.

The ability to deliver professional and collaborative financial information and attain high levels of accurate detail is essential for success in this role. The critical mindset is to go above and beyond stakeholder expectations and consistently lead by example with innovative thinking as well as the protection and championing asset protection and maximizing return of investments. They will be expected to own and drive internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of all Legends Global Merchandise financial transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Direct all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, and payroll (in conjunction with shared services where appropriate). Prepare Legends Global Merchandises financial reporting and analyze results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and comparison with internal budgets. Issues regular status reports to senior management. Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Manage cash reconciliations, physical inventory counts and the safeguarding of assets. Manage monthly accounting operations for financial oversight and budgetary approval of specific transactions. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory authority. Assist the VP of Finance in financial planning, modeling, and projections. Partner with shared services to manage key vendor financial relationships including A/P payments, statement reconciliations, chargebacks, short pay, and problem resolution. Manage the accounting team member’s, which includes the development, hiring, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, prioritization, assignment of tasks and problem. Track, analyze and monitor client and internal department performance key metrics and data. Participate in vendor negotiations to ensure product suitable, relevance and cost-efficiency standards are achieved. Interact regularly with executive team and individual department heads to ensure that company’s financial goals and priorities are aligned and achieved with the established total company direction. Continually investigate and introduce process improvement measures and presents suggestions to the Executive team for consideration. Lead and reconcile all cash flow, budgets, and forecast including settlements with special events such as WWE, Super Bowl, Soccer, College Games and Concerts. Approves, Writes, edits and updates Accounting Department documents including Policies & Procedures, Month End Close Schedule, and management of special projects. Assist with the preparation of budget, cost analysis and forecast all LGM division capital expenditures. Other duties and projects as assigned and directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Excellent influencing skills to support the needs of the internal and external stakeholder teams. Excellent written and oral communication skills Detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to multi-task. Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint core skills Must be available to work extended hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Must be able to work in a team environment with internal and external stakeholders across many domestic and international countries.
