Job Summary

This position is responsible for the inspection and confirmation of quality control/quality assurance testing of construction projects at airfields managed by the Indianapolis Airport Authority. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction management, inspection, and quality control, with experience working in an airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Inspect and confirm quality control/quality assurance testing of construction projects
* Monitor and mentor a team of subordinate inspectors
* Manage the IAA Work Permit process
* Assist Project Managers with Punchlist creation, distribution, tracking, and resolution
* Coordinate with contractors working on Airfield, Building, and Roadway projects

Requirements

* Associates Degree from an accredited college in architecture, engineering, construction management, planning, or a related field
* Previous experience working in an airport environment (minimum 1 year)
* Previous experience inspecting IAA Civil, Building, and Remodeling work projects (minimum 10 years)
* Strong communications skills, both verbal and written

Work Environment

* Work both independently and on a team
* Work extended continuous schedules
* Work exterior/outdoors and interior of buildings/structures
* Multiple work sites in and around Indianapolis

Physical Requirements

* Operate a motorized vehicle (automobile, light-duty truck, pickup truck, etc.)
* Operate light duty construction equipment
* Operate small equipment, hand and power tools
