Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Rail Terminal Administrato r supporting our Houston Rail Terminals and Recycled Materials Operations. This position will be based in our Katy, TX office.

The Rail Terminal Administrator is a key member of the logistics team, providing critical support to a network of rail terminals and Recycled Materials (RCM) sites. Reporting directly to the Director of Logistics, this role is responsible for supporting terminal operations through meticulous management of reporting requirements, procurement processes, permits, and human resources support.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting: Generate daily and weekly reports on material received, inventory levels, employee and equipment hours, and associated costs to facilitate informed decision-making.

Financial Oversight: Provide monthly updates to assist the Director in reporting on financial performance, including transaction coding and explanations.

Permit Management: Oversee the process for obtaining and renewing site permits and licenses, such as the Public Weigher Bond process and scale registration, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Procurement Support: Create Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and monitor the status of purchase orders, particularly for goods pending receipt at rail yards and RCM sites.

Human Resources Assistance: Collaborate with Regional HR to lead onboarding of new hires, maintenance of employee data and records, and other HR-related activities.

Work Order Management: Generate and maintain Work Orders, ensuring their accuracy and alignment with operational needs.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including the ability to be approachable and tactful.

Proficiency with Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).

Ability to work independently and manage workload in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment with outstanding prioritization skills.

Experience in ERP software (prefer SAP).

Demonstrated excellence in customer service, ensuring all interactions are handled with professionalism.

Ideally, have experience in a construction or manufacturing office setting.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

SAP & Microsoft Office programs

Construction materials industry experience

Work Environment:

Role operates primarily a professional office environment but requires conducting business at rail terminal locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
