The Collections Analyst is responsible for managing the collection of outstanding accounts receivable, resolving resident billing issues, and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. The Collections Analyst works effectively with residents, families, and New Perspective leadership to lead and manage the collections process. The Collections Analyst champions the company’s mission of Residents First in Everything We Do

Responsibiltiies

Contact residents via phone, email, or letter regarding overdue payments and negotiate payment plans or settlements. Prepare, review, and analyze reports to identify delinquent accounts and prioritize collection efforts. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident account information. Collaborate with the Executive Directors, Business Office Managers, Accounting Department and Legal Counsel to resolve resident issues and disputes. Escalate collection issues as needed to management or legal counsel. Recommend accounts for bad debt write-off or transfer to third-party collections agencies. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements related to debt collection practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 2+ years of proven experience as a Collections Analyst or similar role. Strong knowledge of billing and collections procedures. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in collections.
