Job Summary
Performs administrative assistant support work of moderate complexity.
Essential FunctionsThe primary responsibility of this position will be handling the visas for the department.
Assist staff and faculty in facilitating and maintaining lawful immigration status and employment authorization. Monitor compliance with immigration rules and regulations. Remains current through self-directed professional reading and attending professional development courses and attending visa training as directed. Perform administrative tasks for the Payroll/HR Administrator for the department. These duties will include learning the hiring process of faculty, staff, students, and temporary employees. Processing of initial requests to hire as well as onboarding of new employees. Learning procedures to bring international hires into the department. Physical EffortThis position is primarily sedentary. However, some walking is required between various areas of the department.
