Position Summary:

Under the supervision and guidance of the Vice-President, Community and Organizational Care, the Resource Development program manager will be responsible for the activities and operations of the Resource Development department. The manager will be responsible for the activities of the annual giving program, including direct mail appeals, communications, special events, grant applications and reporting, and donor relations. The manager will also be responsible for the activities of planned giving, including convening the Major and Planned Giving Team and coordinating major and planned giving activities. Department oversight includes program planning, staff supervision, performance management, and stakeholder relations. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the manager demonstrates commitment to Graceworks Values and delivers Faithful Caring to program constituents.

Position Accountabilities and Performance Criteria:

Develop an annual program work plan and budget that addresses organizational resource development goals. Coordinate and facilitate internal and external direct mail appeals, communications, distribution, recordkeeping, and acknowledgement. Coordinate and facilitate special events including Golf Outing. Responsibilities include serving as staff to special event volunteer committees, securing event sponsorships, coordination of event logistics, development of printed materials, coordination of mailings, and staffing events. Coordinate grant activity including participation with United Way and the annual Combined Federal Campaign. Coordinate annual Graceworks employee giving campaign. Activities include staffing and managing the activities of the campaign committee comprised of Graceworks employees. Coordinate grant activity including participation with United Way and the annual Combined Federal Campaign. Supervise program staff, make work assignments according to program need, and perform annual performance reviews. Coordinate major and planned giving activity including convening Major and Planned Giving Team and facilitating team member contacts. Assist vice-president as special projects arise. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization regarding the use of technology and technology-based information. Responsible for welcoming and on-boarding new employees Performs other duties as directed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelors degree required. A thorough working knowledge of development concepts and techniques, the ability to think strategically, computer literacy, strong interpersonal/human relations skills, the ability to manage multiple activities, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with donors and staff. Certified Fund Raising Profession preferred.

Minimum Experience:  Candidate should have five years professional development experience including grant writing, staff supervision, program planning, special event coordination, and the personal solicitation of major gifts and professional writing. Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred
