Overview
Merit Logistics is a fast-growing and dynamic company that has proven success in helping the nation’s largest retailers achieve peak performance and enhanced profitability through superior logistics services. Merit is seeking to hire an experienced professional to strengthen its Finance department as the Company continues to grow. This role shall be responsible for maintaining and improving upon the current financial operations of the organization and will work closely with the members of other corporate departments (Operations, Human Resources, IT).
Primary Functions
Manage all aspects of the daily/weekly/monthly accounting and payroll functions Gather information needed to prepare financial performance reports for all site locations Actively monitor accounts receivable aging to ensure timely collection of payments and follow-up with delinquent accounts Analyze all G&A expenses and determine where cost-saving opportunities exist Reconcile revenue from in-house operating software against amounts within the financial accounting system Prepare all month-end journal entries and supporting schedules; Put together monthly financial reporting package for review Assist with financial analysis as requested by the Director of Finance Ensure ongoing accuracy of all detailed financial and payroll-related information; Perform regular audits as needed to identify & correct issues. Coordinate with CPA’s on year-end financial statement review; Work with other agencies to complete compliance audits as they arise Establish procedures and enforce accountability to achieve desired results

This job operates in a professional office environment and is a full-time, salaried position. Typical office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm . Additional hours should be expected to be needed depending on business demands and to accomplish required tasks. Ultimately, this position ensures that all duties are completed promptly per established expectations.
Education & Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline and 7+ years of previous accounting experience Preferred: Experience at a public accounting firm/ CPA License-
