ABOUT LOGISTICS CLUSTER
The Logistics Cluster is part of the humanitarian architecture of the Inter Agency Standing Committee (IASC), together with other 10 global clusters. WFP was chosen to lead the Logistics Cluster due to its expertise and skills in Logistics. The Logistics Cluster aims to enhance cooperation and partnerships in the logistics sector., working directly with partners and stakeholders to coordinate the logistics response during a humanitarian crisis. Partners and stakeholders include national and international NGOs, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, other UN organizations, Governments, Academia and Donors.
The Logistics Cluster Coordinator leads a team of dedicated staff in the country of operation to lead the coordination of the logistics response, so the whole response is able to deliver essential programmes to people in need.
JOB PURPOSE
To establish a roster of logistics coordination specialists with humanitarian experience, leadership, and coordination/cooperation expertise. This means that successful candidates will be part of a pool that can be deployed when required, based on suitability of their profile to the contextual requirements. Please note that selection for the roster does not imply an offer of contract from WFP.
The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and facilitate the processes that will ensure a well-coordinated, strategic, appropriate, coherent, effective, and efficient response by participating organisations in Logistics Clusters at country level.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The focus of the role and associated responsibilities will depend on operational needs and may vary by country, considering the basic principles of the Cluster Approach.

As needed, participate in inter-agency needs assessments to ensure that identified logistical needs, gaps and priorities consider the overall emergency context (are evidence-based), and vice versa. Based on the identified common logistics gaps and needs, advise the Humanitarian Country Team on key operational priorities, issues, and challenges; and keep them informed of evolving needs.Effective (inter-agency) coordination
