JOB SUMMARY :The Addiction Treatment Center (ATC) at The University of Vermont Medical Center provides a range of evidence-based outpatient services to people with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, including individual counseling, intensive group-based therapy, psychiatric assessment, and medication management. 

The Outreach and Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for forming, maintaining and improving ATC’s relationship with community partners and providing direct peer services to individuals with substance use disorders. The position works as part of the multi-disciplinary team to support patients in accessing, engaging in and staying in treatment in order to achieve their recovery goals.
 

EDUCATION :

High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE :

Minimum of 1 year working as a Recovery Coach.

Knowledge/Special Skills :

Holds active Certified Recovery Coach (CRC) credential in Vermont. Advanced training in motivational interviewing skills strongly preferred Ability and willingness to adhere to patient confidentiality laws, including HIPAA and CFR Part 2 Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC, preferred Organized, proactive and self-motivated Ability to work independently and travel off-site to community partner sites within Chittenden County.
