We’re hiring a personable Dental Assistant to provide extraordinary customer service to our patients. Responsibilities include assisting our dental staff with examinations and procedures, obtaining dental records, scheduling appointments, and ensuring our patients leave our practice with a smile. Compensation:

$17 - $26 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists during any procedures or examinations by handing off dental instruments and ensure each patient's mouth is comfortable, dry, and accessible to the dentist
  • Give patients advice on a good oral health care regime so they can maintain a healthy smile
  • Support staff with administrative duties such as saying hello to patients, answering phones and making appointments for upcoming dental visits, ordering supplies, and handling billing
  • Provide postoperative instructions to patients so they are informed about how to care for their teeth and gums after procedures to prevent infection
  • Write down treatment information after every visit and ensure patient records include current dental histories

  • Works 40 hours, present specialist days performing all the responsibilities as they presently exist or as they may change due to the demands and needs of the office
  • Provides clinical support to all providers and staff
  • Assists in generating optimum schedule by assigning Dental Assistants to Doctors and Hygienists, along with finding staff to fill in when necessary
  • Reports to the Dental Office Manager during Team Leader Meetings on a weekly basis for feedback, assistance, and supervision to review duties and responsibilities
  • Provides backup to the Dental Chief Patient Care Coordinator regarding all essential administrative duties and assists with office oversight and coverage
  • Collaborates with the Dental Office Manager and Dental Chief Patient Care Coordinator to ensure Dentists, Dental Assistants, and Dental Patient Care Coordinators are following proper policies and procedures
  • Leads morning huddles with Dental Assistants daily for supervision with all staff and to provide oversight and direction for a smooth workflow
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the office and supervises
  • Maintains Inventory of Dental supplies
Qualifications:
  • Have the ability to give patients exceptional care and service
  • Basic data entry and computer skills
  • Excellent multitasking, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Candidates must have graduated from an accredited dental assistance program with an associate’s degree

Essential Function:

  • Ensures collaborative effort between staff with regard to correct provider scheduling
  • Interview new hires and provide training to all new staff as well as ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to
  • Responsible for completion of 100% of performance evaluations for all back office employees on a quarterly basis
  • Reviews and processes time/attendance records, and monitors overtime and vacation requests for all supervised staff
  • Works with the Dental Office Manager and Chief Dental Patient Care Coordinator to ensure adequate coverage for all clinical operations
  • Forecasts develop and implement policies and procedures in the areas of customer service, human resources, and budgetary goals and objectives
  • Responsible for onboarding and new employee training, such as links to online programs, including OSHA, Sexual Harassment, and Infection Control
  • Responsible for the day-to-day technical flow of clinical operations of Soul Dental, such as maintenance of rooms, dental equipment, and IT/Server issues
  • Monitoring of Lab cases and communication with Labs
  • Monitor and maintain office cleanliness
  • Ensure Dental Assistants are working as a Team both in the office and across all Soul Dental locations
  • Steps in and Assists Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in all phases of Dentistry when required
