POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for performing laboratory testing activities for commercial and residential HVAC units. The position will provide support for Product Engineering staff as well as instruction and guidance for test technicians.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

Execute product testing daily including the data collection and summarization of test results. Identify and setup test equipment necessary for completion of each test. Perform special testing including air leakage, airflow measurement, and simulated transportation testing of product. Work with management and engineering teams to develop test plans & schedules. Maintain test equipment calibration records and coordinate work with third party calibration vendors. Develop work instructions applicable to laboratory activities. Research and implement test standards for specific product testing. Prepare and plan product certification testing for UL and EPA requirements. Support Third Party testing of product for research and strategic initiatives. Support annual offsite testing of product for AHRI certification. Prepared to travel 10% of the time. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum B.S. in engineering related degree. Basic understanding of AC & DC circuits (preferred). Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics (preferred). 1+ years experience in HVAC or a related field (preferred). 1+ year experience in a testing or laboratory environment (preferred). Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills. Team oriented, self-motivated and analytical approach to problem solving. Availability and willingness to work additional hours if projects require.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $93,500/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
