Position Summary
As a Field Engineer at Geek+, you will serve as the key liaison among project managers, supply chain experts, service program managers, suppliers, and clients. Your role will involve collaborating with various internal teams to grasp the intricacies of system configurations and site-specific dynamics. You will coordinate all facets of robotic systems deployment and maintenance at client locations, ensuring seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of contractors, providing direction and support to ensure timely and quality task completion while monitoring performance and addressing any arising issues.
- Oversee onsite project planning, including defining the scope of work, budgeting, scheduling, and subcontracting services, integrating these elements into the master project plan.
- Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, particularly regarding delivery schedules with supply chain teams.
- Conduct comprehensive hardware inspections, quality control assessments, and pre-deployment testing to preemptively identify and resolve potential challenges.
- Prepare the hardware environment for System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Performance Testing, actively participating in these evaluations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware-related issues both remotely and on-site to minimize downtime and optimize robot functionality.
- Document all hardware-related challenges, solutions, and best practices in an organized manner for future reference.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in autonomous robotics hardware, contributing insights to maintain the company's competitive advantage and quickly adapting to new products.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for team members and service partners.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to manage site implementations and hardware services across diverse teams, including client operations and IT departments.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in online collaboration tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to complex issues and new technologies.
- Positive attitude with a strong enthusiasm for learning and problem-solving.
- Willingness to travel extensively, with up to 80% travel required for client site visits.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience (3-5 years).
- Experience in warehouse operations, logistics functions, or the 3PL industry, with hands-on leadership experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
