Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

The meaningful work you will be asked to lead:

Primary contributor to new product development projects with a focus on developing and implementing new systems and processes within instrument travelers that will be used to track instrument records such as calibrations and performance testing. Work with Engineering to design scripts to automate as much of the traveler testing as possible.

Supports troubleshooting of Manufacturing-related software operational issues.

Work with Engineering department as needed to write scripts to facilitate current or improved procedures.

Partner with cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at concept phase and set expectations for manufacturing processes.

Collaborating with engineers and operators to understand the pain points or optimization opportunities in our production processes, to determine where software solutions can improve our ability to reduce variation, rework, or waste.

Research software automation and optimize current production procedures using programming knowledge.

Replace VBA Scripts using Python and maintain and improve code base.

Participating in, and helping to mature and scale, development processes such as code reviews, backlog reviews, and scrum meetings.

Other duties and tasks deemed appropriate for the position.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent practical experience. 2-5 years of experience in software development. 2 years or more of Python programming. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint). Proficiency with Git. Experience writing SQL queries and database management. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
