The Technical Writing Co-Op (Logistics) will be responsible for the creation of documentation, user guides, and other training materials and technical manuals for a variety of tasks, tools, and applications. You will be involved in creating visual aids that will be used in training materials and technical documents for a manufacturing environment that specializes in explosive materials. This position requires excellent writing skills and ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

What You Will Do:

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

Compose content for technical documents and training materials including but not limited to templates, training manuals, user guides, and reports. Assist with establishing guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations to meet business needs and requirements. Organize material and complete documentation assignment according to company standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. Edit, standardize, or make changes to functional descriptions, system specifications, reports, or any other document prepared by other authors or sources. Develop process maps and detailed process flows for a variety of tasks. Support continuous improvement and process optimization efforts within respectful areas.

What You Will Learn:

Analysis, planning, and implementation of process controls in an explosives manufacturing environment. Organizational collaboration and cross-functional correspondence. Project oversight and implementation.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Strong technical writing background and prior experience writing technical documentation. Advanced software skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently with minimal direction. Capable of working under strict timelines and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
