Summary / TWC Summary JOB SUMMARY: The Program Manager for Community Outreach of TSU’s Bullard Center grant funded Thriving Communities project manages the day-to-day operations of the Community Outreach component. The incumbent may supervise staff employees, student workers, programs, or processes. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Program Manager for Community Outreach, is a highly collaborative, self-motivated, creative person that is adaptable to new processes with capacity to function independently. The Program Manager is knowledgeable of community outreach, and programming that can be developed into programs implemented at both the individual and community level.

This is a Grant Funded position.
Essential Duties Summary
Summary Program promotions, Community Engagement, and Outreach Cultivate and maintains relationships to foster Community Engagement and Outreach Plan, implement, and evaluate program strategies, policies, and services to effectively meet program deliverables Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to promote the Thriving Communities program Track community grantees awards, progress Verify applicants and awardees submitted information for accuracy and completeness Prepare materials, set-up, plans, implements, and participates in outreach events, seminars, conferences, and networking activities Serves as direct contact for the Thriving Communities project Answers routine questions concerning the Thriving Communities project activities and operations Compiles required data for progress and financial report Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of: Policies, procedures, and practices. Knowledge of basic office and financial processes and procedures Skill in: Demonstrated skills in gathering, compiling, and synthesizing information to develop community engagement/outreach or program promotion initiatives and educational materials for a diverse group of community, partners, and stakeholders Demonstrated skills in a variety of educational methods including presentations, workshops, trainings, community engagement/outreach, and small group discussion/facilitation Demonstrated skills in a variety of computer software applications Supervisory skills to effectively manage students, staff or volunteers Quantitative and qualitative research skills or willingness to learn skill Ability to work independently while collaborating with other team members and exercise sound judgment Professional writing, publications, and/or presentations or willingness to learn skill Detail oriented, Problem-solving, and decision-making Multitasking and time management Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with strong public speaking skills Demonstrated experience in effective conflict management and resolution Ability to: Independent use of technology, virtual meeting platforms, and social media Ability to learn and adapt to new processes Assist with the development of verbiage and the coordination of mass, social, and print media marketing campaigns
Work Experience
Preferred: One-year community engagement/outreach or program promotions related experience with supervisory work experience, preferably in a higher education environment is preferred but not required.
