Position Overview: My client is recruiting a Senior Glassblower with extensive experience in quartz fabrication. This role involves working with specialized tools and equipment to produce high-quality quartz glass products. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in industrial glassblowing, particularly within the semiconductor industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage equipment such as lathes, hydrogen/oxygen torches, vacuum chucks, and annealing ovens to fabricate intricate quartz products.
- Perform precise, free-hand glassworking tasks to meet detailed specifications and tolerances.
- Interpret technical blueprints, work instructions, and production diagrams to ensure the accuracy and quality of products.
- Collaborate on the design of custom tools, jigs, and fixtures for specialized fabrication tasks.
- Provide expert technical advice and mentorship to junior glassblowers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Accurately document all time, materials, and processes in the ERP system to maintain rigorous production records.
Skills:
- Proficient in welding and glassblowing, with a focus on quartz shaping and forming.
- Skilled in operating precision equipment such as lathes and torches.
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience in training and developing junior team members in glassblowing techniques.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing methodologies is desirable.
