The Director of Accounting and Assistant Controller works closely with the Corporate Controller and other teams to oversee the day-to-day corporate accounting functions.

Your Key Responsibilities Include: Assist in managing the accounting and control functions of the Corporate Accounting group to produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements under tight deadlines. Review the work of senior/staff accountants to ensure accuracy. Analyze financial statements and provide variance explanations. Coordinate and oversee annual audit activities with internal and external auditors. Ensure timely delivery of all audit requirements. Oversee the SOX control environment to ensure compliance with all documentation requirements and ensure proper design of controls over the corporate accounting processes. Assist in various aspects of the preparation of the Company’s SEC reporting, including financial statement footnotes. Support drafting of technical accounting memos as needed. Provide senior management with information vital to the decision-making process. Help hire, train, coach, and monitor the team's performance. Collaborate with other departments to support company goals and objectives. Assist with various accounting and financial systems as administrator and expert on system-driven accounting processes such as stock compensation and accounting close software. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

What You Have:

Capacity to think critically and manage and prioritize workload. Ability to meet deadlines with a sense of urgency and efficiency. Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles, Strong understanding of SOX control requirements. Solid Excel and accounting system experience, Effective in analyzing problems and recommending solutions. Highly detailed and organized. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees. Your Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, an advanced degree, with a CPA is preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience. 3+ years of team/staff management experience. Residential homebuilding/construction accounting is preferred. Strong Excel/MS Office skills. Compensation: Century intends to offer the selected candidate an annual base salary in the range of $130K-$150K plus annual bonus potential. Actual offers will be based on a variety of factors, including experience. Employees will have access to paid time off, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance and the Company's 401(k) plan.
