The Greater Louisville Head Start program at Family and Children's Place is looking to hire a Program Director. This leadership position is responsible for the administration and management of FCP's Head Start and Early Head Start programs in accordance with state and federal regulations and FCP's policies.

This leadership position has a competitive pay range of $77,000 to $82,000. We also offer great benefits, including medical, dental, vision, a 403(b) plan, paid time off (PTO), vacation time, paid sick time, up to 10 paid holidays, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance. ABOUT HEAD START

Head Start programs prepare America's most vulnerable young children to succeed in school and in life beyond school. To achieve this, Head Start programs deliver services to children and families in core areas of early learning, health, and family well-being while engaging parents as partners every step of the way.

Head Start encompasses Head Start preschool programs, which primarily serve 3- and 4-year-old children, and Early Head Start programs for infants, toddlers, and pregnant women. Head Start services are delivered nationwide through 1,600 agencies which tailor the federal program to the local needs of families in their service area.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE DIRECTOR OF GLHS

Through oversight of a staff including the partnerships director, home-based program director, compliance manager and education manager, the director of Greater Louisville Head Start will provide management of associated partnerships, supervision of all program operations and ensure full compliance with Head Start performance standards. The director will be responsible for fiscal management and program evaluation, planning and partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR DIRECTOR GLHS

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in early childhood education, social work, human services, public administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervision of staff, fiscal management, and program administration required.
  • Experience providing childcare, preschool, and/or early childhood home visitation services for culturally diverse children and families strongly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with Head Start/Early Head Start program administration and familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach.
