T-Mobile Senior Android Software Engineer

Fully Remote (MUST BE LOCATED NEAR Seattle, WA, Kansas City, Missouri, or Frisco, Texas... although the team is fully remote they want to be sure their contractor workforce is located near their office locations)

1 year contract (Potential for long term extension)

As a Sr. Engineer - Android, you will be working on pioneering technology in the hardware and software world. You will be merging the hardware features with software to provide a unified, smooth customer experience over Bluetooth stack, location-based services while prioritizing privacy and security of customer data.

Your will be interacting with product managers to help them discover Android features and capabilities, advise them on feasibility, provide estimations. You will be working with hardware engineers to connect apps with hardware and deliver functionality that is highly technical, and engineering focused.

Test driven development will your foundation for delivering quality code at source with unit tests, integration tests. You will lead the delivery of your code from end-to-end, automating continuous integration and delivery.

Skills Required
  • Proficiency in Java and working knowledge with Kotlin
  • Experience with Bluetooth stack, location services, GPS and maps
  • Experience with Java/Kotlin, RxJava, gradle and jUnit, espresso testing.
  • Understanding of Material design and mobile UX/UI patterns
  • Deep experience-based understanding of how to build mobile applications at scale.
  • Experience working in a team of Android developers participating in code reviews, pull requests, and pair programming.
  • Validated experience mentoring and coaching other Android developers in a collaborative and team-based organization.
  • Understanding of consuming RESTful web services, running authentication, authorization, and session
  • Strong understanding of modern development principles such as trunk-based development, feature toggles, and branch by abstraction to support performant and collaborative engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps to continuously and autonomously deliver high-quality apps to guarantee stable and performant experiences.
  • Experience working with multi-functional teams such as design, product, data teams to deliver great user experiences.
  • Understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms to ensure consistency to software engineering standard processes including object-oriented and functional programming
Skills Desired
  • Exposure to Cloud or Firmware Development.
  • Knowledgeable in asynchronous development, networking, or Bluetooth.
  • Understanding of internet protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP and networking and security standards
  • Familiarity with API development, database queries, backend systems
  • Leadership experience
Qualifications
  • 5 plus years of Android development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM faculties
  • Published Apps in the Play Store
Location: Local to Bellevue, WA, Overland Park, KS, or Frisco, TX

Contract: One year with possibility for extension

Required Skills : Senior Android Development 5+ years Senior level skills with Java (Expert Level) and Strong Kotlin skills (Senior Level) MUST be local to Seattle area, Kansas City area, or Frisco area (This is Fully Remote but they want their contractor workforce located close to their office locations) NICE TO HAVE: Experience with Azure DevOps
